Brookfield man injured in one-car accident
BROOKFIELD -- A Silvermine Road man was injured Tuesday in a one-car accident on Candlewood Lake Road, police said.
Patrick Streaman was driving north just after 6:15 p.m., when his car ran off the road, struck a concrete culvert and rolled onto its side, police said.
When police and firefighters arrived at the scene, a bystander was helping Streaman get out of the vehicle. The car's motor was still running and the vehicle was leaking gasoline, police said.
Firefighters contained the spill, and Streaman was taken to the hospital by ambulance, police said.
Streaman was given a verbal warning for failure to maintain the proper lane and failure to wear a seat belt, police said.
